Joe Denning, 88, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Joe was born on June 14, 1935, in Harnett County to the late Joe Denning and Ava Moore Denning. He was a Mason and was a member of the Phoenix #8 Masonic Lodge. He was retired from the North Carolina Army National Guard and from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Onia Baker Denning; daughter, Rebecca Jo Denning; sister, Mattie D. Norris; and brother, John Usher.
He is survived by his daughters, Joy D. Lintzenich (Jim), Cathy D. Christianson (Ray), Jennifer D. Leeds (Dr. Mark); son, Steve O Denning (Kristy); sisters, Brenda Sue Turner and Jean Driver (William); grandchildren, Jenna Lintzenich Tindall (John), Kaleb Denning, Savannah Denning, Amber Leeds Norman (Micah), Jacob Leeds and Jason Leeds; great-granddaughters, Jolene and June Tindall.
