Johnny Richard Lisenby, Sr., 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Johnny was born June 6, 1949, at Ft. Bragg, to Fred and Mary Jackson Lisenby. Most of his career was spent in the sale of apparel or insurance. He was also an ordained minister. Johnny always had a smile and a positive attitude, and never met a stranger. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother, and Pa Pa.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenny, James, and David Lisenby.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn McGarrah Lisenby; sons, Johnny Lisenby, Jr., and Bill Lisenby (Hazel); daughter, Rebecca Tyson (Jeffrey); sister, Betty Jean Brock; grandchildren, William Lisenby, Nathaniel Locklear, and Alisa Chavis.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 3pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
