Joshua Allen Makuch, 49, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1973, in Fayetteville.
Josh was an amazing man with many talents, not the least of which was making people laugh. He was a bright light that lit up any room he was in. His intelligent and curious nature showed itself in everything he did. He worked in the telecommunications industry, first with copper and then fiber optic cable. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, ocean fishing and spending time with friends and family, but his biggest passion was cooking gourmet food for his close friends and family.
Josh was predeceased by his father; Richard Makuch. He is survived by his son, Caleb Jordan Smith; mother, Jean Bolton; sister, Jocelyn Cote and her husband, Nick; his nieces and nephew, Cameron, Delaney and Sammy; his best friend, Wayne; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Monday, July 31, with visitation from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. and the service at 7 p.m.
