Judith Lynn ‘Judy’ Greene, 82, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Benjamin ‘Ben’ Greene; her parents, Lovette Grady Holland, Sr. and Eva Ellen Holland; her brother, Lovette Grady Holland, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Wilmer Ralph Price, Jr.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Kathryn ‘Lynn’ Greene of Fayetteville; sister, Diane Holland Price of Raleigh; niece, Jennifer Logan of Eastover; niece, Kathy Pike and husband, Clifton Pike of Vanceboro, NC; as well as her great niece, Payton Logan of Eastover, and great nephews, Will Pike of Raleigh and Jay Pike of New Bern.
After graduating from Fayetteville High School, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Ben Greene, assuming the role of a Navy wife. Soon after, they welcomed their only child, Lynn while stationed in Norfolk, VA. Ben’s final duty station with the Navy took the family to the US Naval Station at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. After returning home Judy, alongside her husband, worked in Civil Engineering at Pope Air Force Base until she retired in 1997.
Judy was a great piano player, enjoyed crafts, traveling and slot gaming. She enjoyed opening her home to family, friends and neighbors as she entertained them with her talents at the piano as well as with her good humor. She was the person everyone wanted to be with. You never spent time with her when you didn’t hear her laugh. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her for her beauty, talents and fun-loving nature.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a service to begin 2:00pm at Camp Ground United Methodist Church at 4625 Campground Road Fayetteville, NC 28314.
