Judy Haire Shelton, 81, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2025.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Shelton and Inez Shelton, her sister Annette Sloan, and step-mother Mildred Shelton.
She is survived by her nephew Bo Haviland, her niece Danielle Haviland, her great-nephew Travis Harris (Ashley), and dear friends Sandra Herndon and Kay Strickland.
Judy was a dedicated and respected teacher with the Cumberland County School System for 30+ years. The many students whose lives she touched are the greatest tribute to Judy. Those students and her many friends will remember Judy with love and respect.
In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to Duke University, and the University of North Carolina Alzheimer’s Research Center, or Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
