Kathleen Armstrong Bethea, B.A.
Member of Simon Temple AME Zion Church, Retired Case Worker for Allegheny County Assistance Office, Alumna of Central State University, and soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 27, 2023 at the age of 67 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida. Widow of the late Rev. David W. Bethea, M.Div.; Mother of Dr. Kathryn Bethea-Rivera (Augie) and Lauren Ashleigh Bethea; Grandmere of Anise Lorraine Bethea; Daughter of the late Lorraine Armstrong and Ralph Hicks; Sister of Barbara and Robert Keith of NC; Sister-in-law of Maggie Bethea of NC, Margaret Dixon (Ronnie) of DC, Alice Gordon (Oliver) of MD, Ruth Hart of NC, Minnie Harris of GA, Charles Bethea of NC; Cousin of Brenda Wilson of GA; Aunt of Roderick Armstrong, Rhaland Keith, and Ryne Keith of NC; and also survived by a host of godsisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, co- workers, and friends. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 11:00AM at Simon Temple AME Zion Church, Fayetteville, North Carolina. The service will also be livestreamed on Simon Temple’s FaceBook page and website.
