Kyle Bryant “Dog” Phillips, 27, of Hope Mills, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Kyle was born on November 13, 1996, in Cumberland County and has always lived his life in the fast lane with no pause button.

He was a 2015 graduate of Village Christian Academy and attended Pitt Community College. Kyle found joy working with Mr. James Autry on his farm before joining the UPS family, where he has worked for the past 6 years.

His passion was being behind the boat on his wakeboard, which started at a young age on the waterway at Holden Beach. Kyle spent many hours riding and entertaining those at the river and lake.  He loved throwing dust from the seat of a dirt bike.

Kyle played hard and loved fiercely. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and was a loyal friend to many.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend to all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Southview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bryant Melton Horne, Sr. and Peggy Jean Horne; paternal grandpa, Edward Ray Phillips; uncle, Bryant Melton Horne, Jr.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin Andrew Phillips and Kelly Horne Phillips; sister, Kayla Horne and husband Garrett; his niece, the one that stole his heart, Paisley James Horne; paternal grandmother, JoAnne Matthews Phillips; uncle, Edward Ray Phillips, Jr and wife Kelli; cousins, Taylor Collins and husband Sean and Garrett Phillips.
