Linda Newton Jackson, 70, departed to heaven from her home on Monday, August 28, 2023. Her family was by her side when she gained her wings.
Linda was a 1971 graduate of Massey Hill High School and retired from Western Publishing Co. and Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Linda will be remembered for her work ethics and her love, devotion, and dedication to her family. She will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Southview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Griffin Newton; maternal grandmother, Nellie Guy Griffin; and her favorite uncle, Walter Reed Griffin.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Edgar Jackson Jr.; devoted sons, Eric Jackson and Todd Jackson of Hope Mills; devoted daughter-in-law, who she loved like her own, Jennifer Johnson Jackson.
Linda was Mimi to her three grandchildren: Hunter Jackson, Jordan Jackson, and Ali Jackson of Hope Mills; sister, Tina Odom and husband, Larry, of Hope Mills; brother, Stephen Griffin and wife, Deborah, of Raeford; dear friend, Teresa Blackwell of Hope Mills and her grand-dogs, Bailey, Dabo and Hope.
