Man charged in Michigan murder arrested at Fayetteville motel

A man wanted for murder in Michigan for about a year was arrested at a Fayetteville motel on Wednesday, according to police.

Ricky Lorenzo Bridgeman, 36, was arrested at the Motel 6 in the 3000 block of Bragg Boulevard, a Fayetteville Police Department news release said.

Bridgeman was wanted on charges of murder and a parole violation in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the release said. He had been a fugitive since November 2021.

Officers with the Police Department’s Gang Unit searched Bridgeman’s motel room and found 0.5 grams of methamphetamines, 2 grams of crack cocaine and a .357 Magnum revolver, the release said.

The arrest was made by officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and Gang Unit, as well as officers with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement officers, according to the news release.
