Man, woman charged with marijuana, sex-offender violations

Search on Glenwood Drive yields drugs, rifle, ammunition

A search of a residence on Glenwood Drive resulted in the arrest of a man and woman on charges of selling marijuana and violating sex offender registration laws, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

The Sex Offender Registration Enforcement Unit obtained a search warrant for a home in the 700 block of Glenwood Drive, a news release said. The home was searched about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

The residence was occupied by Kristian Pfeffer and Kimberly Bunnell, the news release said. Detectives seized a 7.62 caliber rifle along with magazines and ammunition as well as individually packaged containers of marijuana, the release said.

Kristian Richard Pfeffer, 30, was charged with failure to report a new address for a sex offender and a sex offender residence violation; possession of a firearm by a felon; possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana; manufacturing marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for drug sales; felony conspiracy; and possession of marijuana paraphernalia, according to the news release.

Pfeffer was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he was given a $65,000 secured bond. His first appearance in court was at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the county jail, and his bond was increased to $250,000, secured with GPS monitoring.

Kimberly Ann Bunnell, 40, of Fayetteville, surrendered to detectives on Tuesday and was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana; manufacturing marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for drug sales; felony conspiracy; possession of marijuana paraphernalia; and failure to report sex offender noncompliance, the news release said.

Bunnell was given a $20,000 unsecured bond. Her first appearance in court is set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
