Margaret Davis Dixon, of Fayetteville, NC, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025. Born on October 31, 1943, in Savannah, GA to parents Nolan Cromwell Davis, Jr. and Elouise Wyatt Davis. She graduated from Hoboken High School, Hoboken, GA, in 1961 and began her education journey at Norman Junior College, Norman Park, GA, and Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC, and graduated from Methodist University, Fayetteville, NC, in 1981 with a B.S.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. She taught at Holbrook School at Fort Bragg from 1981 until her retirement in 2008.
Margaret was an accomplished musician and lived a life of Christian service as a pianist, organist, and choir director to churches in Alabama, Kentucky, and North Carolina. She taught many children to play the piano through her years as a private piano instructor. She also pinned a children’s book entitled “Don’t Go Fishing With A Caterpillar!” published in 2011.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, George Gordon Dixon, and her sister, Diane Davis. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children James Nolan Hyde of Brunswick, GA, John Eric Hyde of Fayetteville, NC and John Thomas Dixon (Shannon) of Washington, WV; granddaughters Ainsley Dixon and Jaslynn Dixon; sister Rachel Kelly (Harry); nieces Gina Oleksinski and Nicole Saxton (Dudley) and nephew Jeff Williams (Melissa McClure); and her close friends Robin and Pastor James Merkel and Pastor Floyd Benfield. Meg’s family finds comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven her family and friends and is at peace in the loving arms of her Savior.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville. The family will greet friends starting at noon, followed by the service at 1:00 PM in the Rogers and Breece Chapel. A private burial will be held at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
