Born and raised in the countryside of Sanford, North Carolina, Marjorie lived a life marked by determination, deep faith, humor, and an unwavering love for her family and friends.

She met the love of her life while working as a receptionist. After he left the office one day, she turned to a coworker and said she was going to marry him, and she did. That story captured Marjorie perfectly. When she set her mind to something, it was as good as done. This included becoming a dental hygienist while caring for a house, husband and three children.

A force of nature to the very end, Marjorie moved through life with determination, strength, and more than a dash of sass. Her deep faith in her Lord Jesus guided her throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her family.

She loved her children fiercely and adored her grandchildren, whom she believed hung the moon. She treasured her church family and her special friends Traci, Sharon, and Larkin. Marjorie was a woman of strong opinions, a sharp sense of humor, and an endless love of reading. She also cherished her loyal dogs, who rarely left her side and brought her constant companionship and joy.

Though she is deeply missed, Marjorie’s spirit lives on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love she planted in each of our hearts. She ended many conversations the same way, with words borrowed from a beloved children’s book: “I love you…to the moon and back.”

We love you, Mom.

To the moon and back.
