Martin Anthony “Marty” Phillips, 57, died Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. In his final moments, he was surrounded by the people who he saw as family.
He was born on May 17, 1966 in Prince George’s County, MD to Robert L. Phillips and Alfreida Stoll.
Marty enjoyed fishing, camping on Carolina Beach, “fixin’ & flippin’” Jeeps, and figuring out how to jerry-rig just about anything he could get his hands on. He was also well known as a guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed his help.
He was the owner/operator of Simply Screen Printing and was always very grateful for customers who trusted him with their work. He dedicated his life to his work.
A gathering of friends will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 5 to 7 P.M. People are encouraged to dress casual and wear jeans and any t-shirt Martin may have printed. Come prepared to share any fond memories and share photos. There will be tables available to display them.
Marty is survived by his daughter, Joan Taylor; sisters Cindy O’Brien, Sandy Koors, Rene’ Moncrief Collier; and two grandchildren.
