Graduation 2023

Massey Hill principal summons courage for students entering next chapter

Posted

Massey Hill Classical High School Principal Douglas Massengill quoted Winston Churchill when he spoke to graduates during commencement exercises Tuesday.

“But success, as Winston Churchill wisely noted, is not final,” Massengill said. “It is not the end of the road, but rather a milestone along the way. It is the courage to continue that truly counts.”

More than 900 high school seniors received their diplomas Tuesday as Massey Hill and three other Cumberland County schools held commencements.

The ceremonies were held at the Crown Coliseum.

Massengill challenged the graduates to pursue their dreams.

“As you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that this is just the beginning. Embrace the challenges that lie ahead, for they will shape you into the extraordinary individuals you are destined to become,” he said.
