Michael Melchionda Jr., 75, of Fayetteville, passed away on June 29, 2023.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Stella LaBadia and Michael Melchionda; and his brother, Armand Cece, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Michelle Jackowski, and her husband, Craig; son, Michael Victor Melchionda; grandchildren, CJ, Christopher and Michaela; sister, Marcia Cece; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
Born on April 15, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey, Michael spent his formative years in Bloomfield, New Jersey, later moving to Fayetteville. An Army veteran, he served his country with honor and dedication as a member of the United States Army. Upon retiring from the military, Michael began a new chapter by joining the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked diligently for 30 plus years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a,.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Burial will follow the service at 1 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the ASPCA or to Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, NC 15-1, in Michael’s honor.
