The Miss Fayetteville Dogwood Festival Pageant is being postponed to Sept. 17 because of concerns about the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Cumberland County, Dogwood officials said Monday.
The pageant had been scheduled for March 5.
Officials planned to close the application process today and reopen it in May with a deadline of Aug. 26, officials said in a release.
Interest meetings are expected to be held July 31 and Aug. 21, the release said.
“We sincerely value our community’s health and look forward to continuing the tradition later in the year,’’ the statement said.
