On January 27, 2023, at 12:45pm, God, in his infinite wisdom, called Ricky Derrick Johnson to his eternal home. Ricky was born on September 27, 1963, in Hopkinsville, KY. He leaves behind his mother, Sarah E. Johnson, and his father, Dr. Floyd W. Johnson, Jr. (Shirley): son- Tony Rautiainen and Tony’s mother,
Tiina Rautiainen: stepson- Romondo Johnson and stepdaughter, Jaden Ford: sisters- Janice Lopez, Theresa Moffett-Rose and Summer Rucker: brothers- Anthony Moffett and Ricky’s fraternal twin brother, Ronny Johnson: nieces- Melissa Davis and Sydni Porter: great nieces- Jayla and Aysia Newberry: nephew- Derek Davis and a host of many other family members and Ricky’s beloved four-legged friend, ‘Lucky.”
Ricky was a 1982 graduate of Pine Forest High School and was one of the school’s most outstanding football players. Upon graduation, he held various jobs until he obtained a position as a tire builder at Kelly Springfield Tire Company: then, later, her served as a Colonel for several security companies. In addition, he was also a Master Mason.
Ricky was loved throughout the community by numerous people. The “big bear” would greet you with a bear hug and bear hug you in parting. He never met a stranger, and everyone was automatically inducted into his family, regardless of who they were. He did so with passion and kindness.
Moreover, Ricky did not hesitate to tell you that he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan!
