Welcome to CityView Today! We’re keeping a watchful eye on the winter storm heading our way, which arrives sometime Saturday afternoon.

In today’s newsletter: Cumberland County made it easier for Fayetteville police to enforce a no-camping ordinance. The Cumberland County Board of Education approved a $1.3 million increase in funding for exceptional children’s services to address staffing shortages and growing service demands. The new funding comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed in November accusing the school system of delaying special education evaluations. Also, in his Friday notes column, Senior Columnist Bill Kirby Jr. encourages folks to stay home this weekend as the winter storm rolls into town.

However, if you choose not to heed Kirby’s advice and venture outside, snap some pictures and send them to us with a brief description via email at talk@cityviewnc.com. By emailing photos, you agree to having your photos published in CityView. Stay safe!
