Good morning. The family of 8-year-old Jenesis Dockery, who was shot and killed in 2023 at her babysitter’s house in Cumberland County, has filed a lawsuit against the babysitter and the gun’s owner.
Jenesis was allegedly shot by the 11-year-old son of her babysitter. The boy had stolen a gun that belonged to his grandfather, according to the lawsuit. The Dockery family is seeking financial damages for Jenesis’ medical and funeral expenses, as well as “compensation for pain and suffering” that Jenesis endured.

🎭 The Gilbert Theater in downtown Fayetteville announced last week that my friend Matt Lamb is its new artistic director. Matt has been the interim director of the community theater since October, when previous Artistic Director Larry Carlisle left the position. Matt is a professional actor who has appeared on stage for years in the Fayetteville area and internationally. This includes portraying Mayor Humdinger in Paw Patrol: LIVE! touring productions and the PAW Patrol Live! at Home television special.
