While Fayetteville State did not shut down or cancel activities, at least eight other campuses in five states did, The New York Times reported.

Welcome to CityView Today. In today’s newsletter, Cumberland County commissioners voted 5-2 last week to renovate the old Crown Arena and Crown Theatre after cancelling the construction of the downtown Crown Event Center. The Board of Commissioners is continuing to solicit public comments on what to do with the site where the downtown Crown Event Center would have been built. And Spring Lake commissioners approved a budget amendment of over $600,000 for street and stormwater system repairs, plus new drive-up kiosks where its residents can pay their water bills.
