In honor of the civil rights icon, Fayetteville City Councilmember Stephon Ferguson is hosting a Community Candlelight Vigil on Friday from 7–8 p.m. at Beth Finch Park. The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Dr. Martin Luther King Committee is holding a candlelight vigil on Saturday from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at MLK Park.

💧 People in the Stedman area of eastern Cumberland County are invited to an information session to learn more about Cumberland County’s plans to bring a water and sewer system to the area between Vander, Eastover, and Cedar Creek on the west to Autryville and the Sampson County line on the east. This is the proposed East Central Water and Sewer District. The session is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stedman Elementary School, 7370 Clinton Road in Stedman.
