Good morning! Meet Fayetteville’s “original loc lady,” Airaina Griffith-Knight — a New York transplant, she transformed the art of natural hair styling in Cumberland County, helping create Fayetteville Technical Community College’s first natural hair care curriculum alongside FTCC staff and its Corporate & Continuing Education department in the early 2000s.

She founded her own natural hair care academy, hAirlooms Academy, and her natural hair salon, NUWBNS Hair Rejuvenation Clinic on Ramsey Street. Read all about Griffith-Knight and how she revolutionized natural haircare in Fayetteville in today’s lead story.
