Good morning. Hundreds of people marched in downtown Fayetteville this weekend to memorialize right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10.
Among the attendees of Sunday’s prayer walk were former state legislative candidate Semone Pemberton, current state Rep. Diane Wheatley and Cumberland County Commissioner Henry Tyson. The event coincided with a memorial service held for Kirk in Arizona.
Mourners in Fayetteville concentrated on Kirk’s Christian faith, with one speaker saying, “‘This isn’t just news, it’s revival.” More in our lead story.
