State Board of Elections voted 4-1 against a request to throw out the town of Godwin’s November election results and hold a new one. Godwin town board candidate Dennis Smith Sr., who made the request, told CityView he plans on appealing the decision.

📝 The Hope Mills Prime Movers Committee is accepting applications for its $1,000 scholarship from eligible South View High School juniors and seniors. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate leadership and community involvement, and plan to attend an NC Promise university or Fayetteville Technical Community College. Completed application packets—including transcripts and required materials—must be submitted via email.
