Good morning. Cumberland County Schools’ new superintendent says he will pursue the kind of success he experienced in his previous superintendent jobs in Johnston, Sampson and Northampton counties. Under his tenure, those school districts saw improvements in academic performance.

Eric Bracy, who started the Cumberland County job July 1, spoke during a press conference Monday at the school district’s central office. He said he wants to focus on student achievement and make public schools the No. 1 choice for families. Read more in our top story.
