Good morning. The expected cost for the Fayetteville Public Works Commission to build two filtration plants to clear PFAS contamination was $73 million in March 2023. Since then, the estimate rose to $80 million, then $111.2 million, and then nearly $116 million.
Now, the price has risen to $134 million, engineers told the PWC’s board yesterday.

⛑️ It’s been 24 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In Fayetteville, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will hold its 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & Walk at Segra Stadium this evening. The event is in honor of first responders and firefighters who died on Sept. 11. Registration is closed but the organization is still accepting in-person sign-ups.
