On most weekdays, you will find over one hundred smiling dancers coming in and out of On Pointe Dance Center. What started as a single room studio in the heart of Haymount in 2014 has now turned into a bustling multi-room dance center with many classes offered each day. Dancers of all ages learn proper techniques through quality dance instruction in various genres of dance.
Jenn Cain, who holds a BFA in Dance Education and is founder of On Pointe Dance Center and Fayetteville native, has grown the studio by leaps and bounds. There are many dancers that have been with the studio since the very beginning! When she opened the studio, Jenn also served as the Dance Teacher at Cape Fear High School, but now solely manages and teaches at the studio full time. Her own first recital costume and well-worn pointe shoes hang in the lobby, along with the OPDC teams’ hard-earned competition trophies. On Pointe Dance Center was the first certified Acrobatic Arts Studio in the Fayetteville area and is also considered a Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) certified studio. Instructors Jenn Cain, Olivia Norris, Stephanie Sparks, Carrie Waleisky and Emily Wood, and office manager Lindsay Hall, keep dancers engaged and challenged, and keep the studio running like clockwork.
On Pointe Dance Center offers dance classes of all kinds, from ballet and tap, to jazz and lyrical, acro, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, pom, clogging, pre-school creative movement, competition teams and more. During the summer, classes and themed camps are offered for all ages and skill levels, and they even host parents’ night outs and day camps for school holidays and teacher workdays. On Pointe Dance Center is currently registering for the summer with fall registration soon to follow. The studio offers household and multi-class discounts, and is honored to present scholarships to deserving dancers each year at the annual recital. On Pointe Dance Center is a happy, vibrant place for students to foster their love of dance and creative arts in a positive and safe atmosphere!
