The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a shooting late Monday night on Belhaven Road as 32-year-old Jermaine Hailey of Raeford.
Deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Belhaven Road for reports of shots fired, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
When deputies arrived, they found Hailey with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that this does not appear to be a random act,’’ the Sheriff’s Office said in the release.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit are investigating.
