A virtual career fair will help connect veterans and their spouses with job recruiters seeking military-trained talent on Tuesday.

Recruit Military and Disabled American Veterans will sponsor the Southeast Region Virtual Career Fair for Veterans online from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, according to a news release.

Registration is free and available online for all military members transitioning to the private sector, veterans, military spouses and dependents.

Employers across the country are looking “for intangible skills with a mission-first mindset rooted in leadership, discipline, teamwork, selflessness and service,” Recruit Military said in the news release.

Nearly 50 of the nation’s top employers are scheduled to take part and network with the military community throughout the Southeast.

“Not only do veterans bring unmatched skills and work experience to America’s labor market, they also prove to be worthy investments in human capital by maintaining historically low unemployment rates among all demographics at just 2.9%,” the release said.

“Recruiting is competitive, but retention is high,” Recruit Military said. “Why? Because military-trained employees are loyal and mission-focused, never quitting until the job is done.”

Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is an organization formed in 1920 by World War I veterans to support disabled veterans and their families.
