A pedestrian was in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning at Murchison Road and Blue Street, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The accident was reported at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
Investigators said the pedestrian stepped onto the roadway into oncoming traffic and was struck.
The pedestrian was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, the release said.
The identities of those involved were not immediately released.
All lanes of Murchison Road from Cumberland Street to Blue Street were closed temporarily but were reopened about 1:30 p.m.
