A pedestrian was struck by three vehicles and killed on Saturday night in the area of Bingham Drive, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The death was reported about 9:01 p.m. Saturday in the area of Bingham Drive and Frankie Avenue, a news release said. Officers found the man in the road, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified as Ja’Lauis McDougald, 22.
Investigators said McDougald was crossing the road in dark clothing. The driver of a Nissan tried to avoid him but struck him. He was thrown into the opposite lane of traffic and then struck by two additional vehicles traveling toward Raeford Road, according to the news release.
The drivers of those two vehicles did not stop. One was described as a Dodge Charger, and the other as a sport utility vehicle.
