President Joe Biden is scheduled on Friday to visit Fort Liberty, where he and first lady Jill Biden will meet with service members and their families, according to a news release from the White House.

The Bidens will deliver remarks at an event in support of Joining Forces, the first lady’s initiative to support military and veteran families, caregivers and survivors.

The president’s visit comes a week after the base was officially renamed to Fort Liberty, as reported by CityView.

The Bidens will also visit Rocky Mount, where they will discuss education initiatives at Nash Community College.
