Putting in Pinehurst

The 2014 U.S. Open Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be held back to back June 9 through 22 at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club on Course No. 2. 

Previously the championship was held at Pinehurst in 1999 and 2005. The Sandhills region is excited to hosting this stories sports event once again. The Women's U.S. Open has been played in the Pinehurst area at Pine Needles Country Club in 2001 and 2007. This will be the first time they play at Pinehurst No. 2.

2014 Master Champion Bubba Watson will be in Pinehurst trying to win his second major title this year. Justin Rose will defending his title and Phil Mickelson will be attempting to win his first U.S. Open. Crowd favorite Mickelson has won three Master’s titles and finished second at the U.S. Open four times. He finished second in Pinehurst in 1999. The fans will be looking for Tiger Woods to come back from knee surgery.
