CSM (Ret.) Thomas F. Griffith, 79, of Fayetteville, died Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, with the Special Forces Catholic Chaplain officiating.

Mr. Griffith was born on January 23, 1943 in Talbot County, MD to the late J.E. Kenneth Griffith and Elizabeth Ewing Griffith. He attended Trappe Elementary and graduated from Easton High School in 1961. Mr. Griffith joined the army in June,1961, as a rigger in the 82nd Airborne. He left the army in June of 1964 and worked as a machinist at Black & Decker and Wayne Pump. Mr. Griffith re-entered the army in November, 1969. He graduated from the Special Forces Q Course and was assigned to The Golden Knights Parachute Team. He then served in the 46th Company in Thailand, the 10th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd Special Forces groups, the USOMC in Somalia, graduated from the Sergeants Major Academy, was on the HALO Committee and a veteran of the first Gulf War. His final assignment was with the Special Forces Training Group. Mr. Griffith retired June, 1996, after 32 years and six months of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working on his brother-in-law's family farm, doing carpentry, and taking care of his plants and the yard. Mr. Griffith also enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed eating blue crabs on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and going to "therapy". He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Easton, MD, The Special Forces Association, and a member of American Legion Post #91, in Cambridge, MD.

Mr. Griffith is survived by his wife, Victoria Willey Griffith; sons, Mike, John, Steve (his wife Denise), Matthew (his wife Tabitha) and Patrick; sisters, Mary, Ann, Patricia, Jean and Barbara; brother, Jimmy; grandchildren, Zeke, Kendall, Blake, Owen, Davis, and Emma.

The family will receive friends at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
