Retired Sgt. 1st Class Albert Conely, 80, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Albert loved his country and his family. He was a tough man due to his years in the military but always shared the love in his heart when he could. If someone needed Albert they could always rely on the fact that he would be there for them.
Albert had five children, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was a loving father and a generous person who could be counted on when needed. He loved his family and his pets (his babies). He always said, “I have children, no stepchildren. He was a hard man due to his military service but he took care of all of us!
Albert is survived by partner, Mary Lane; children, Albert/Michelle Conely, Earl/Sharon Turner, Margaret/Tim Wood, Michael/Barbara Turner, and JoAnn/Jamie Portillo; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and his furbabies.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, with a Celebration of Life to follow immediately after starting at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home. Internment with military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
