Wesley Walker Sr. was born in South Hill, Virginia. He was born Aug. 4, 1936, to Emily Walker. He attended schools in Virginia, Maryland and New York and received his GED while serving in the Army.
He served our country for 22 years in various countries to include two tours to Vietnam. He was a jumpmaster during his career and would tell you his story of more than 1,000 jumps.
After retiring, in 1974 he attended Fayetteville Technical Community College and received his associate degree as an automotive technician. He worked as a technician and teacher for more than 20 years,
He enjoyed helping others by working on cars, bowling, traveling and coaching youth baseball. His greatest pastime was watching football, in and out of season.
He was married to Nelle Walker for 28 years. He leaves behind Denise Alston (Wiley), Cheryl Walker, Wesley Walker (Shontelle) Darell Walker Sr., and Arnold Walker (Claudia); nine grandchildren, La Porscha, Andrea, Tasha, Joshua, Dante, Alexandra, Darell Jr., Aryanna, and Antonio; and four great-grandchildren, Kamri, Victoria, Kayden, Jace and Jerome.
