
Rodger Eugene Bain of Eastover, N.C., has earned his wings and through God’s saving grace entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Rodger passed away at his home in the presence of his daughter, Robbin, Steven (husband); his friend Dee; fur babies; and his hospice team. He was 80 years young.
Rodger, also known as Hotrod and High Pocket, was born in Averasboro in Harnett County on Dec. 5, 1942.
Rodger was preceded in death by his fathers, Earnest Eugene Brown and Pernon Rose Bain; his mother, Virginia Mae Norris; his siblings, James B. Brown, Dorothy Bain Cotton, Claudette Bain Turlington and his wife, Catherine Lena Salvetti Bain.
Rodger is survived by his daughter, Robbin Bain Jourdan, and her husband, Steven; son, Michael S. Bain and wife, Irene; grandchildren, Jonathan Jourdan; Lauren Jouran Vieux and husband, Brad; Brian Bain and wife, Nicole; Alicia Jourdan Collins and husband, Brandon; Jason Bain and fiancee, Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Annaylse Jourdan, Gianna Jourdan, Ryder Enriquez, and Kinslee Collins; ex-wife, Dwanda Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
Rodger formerly worked for Thurston Motor Freight, Carolina Freight Carriers and,with his wife’s loving support, their own company, Bain’s Garage. He was a U.S. Marine veteran.
Rodger’s hobbies were racing, golfing, cards, puzzles, and gardening. Rodger was often found on his front porch enjoying nature with his friends, family and fur babies and enjoying his paradise here on Earth.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27,,at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home
Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Jernigan Warren Chapel. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to any nonprofit organization of your choice or to any plant-a-tree program.
