Sandra Luliucci Edge, Sandy, passes away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 82. She was surrounded by family and the sounds of college football playoffs resonating in the background…a perfect sendoff!
Born in California, she moved to Fayetteville/Fort Bragg as a young teenager with her father’s military deployment. She graduated from Fayetteville High School where she made lifelong friends, many of whom continue to meet monthly as the Olde Bulldogs club. She attended Stratford College, then transferred to UNC-CH where the love of her life, Junior, also attended. They build a beautiful life in town, both working in the Luliucci businesses of All American and Lafayette Lanes. Sandy loved working as the lanes’ accountant; however, she was most proud of her role as mother to her children, Trey and Karly, who brought her so much joy. She was a fixture in the neighborhood cul-de-sac, welcoming her children’s friends into their home and not letting them leave without a dip in the large candy bowl. This pattern continued with her 5 grandchildren, who she adored. No matter the activity or sport, you would see her cheering for them, even as her health was declining.
She loved being a member of Lafayette Garden Club and taking up new crafts, such as needlepointing, crocheting, and painting. Everyone will remember Sandy…or Mimi, Mama Sandy, friend, neighbor…with a smile and a funny memory. Best known for her love of family, football and making Fritos-n-Cheese, her memory will live on in the many lives that she touched.
Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Junior; her parents, Earnie and Tom Luliucci; and her brother, Tommy Luliucci. She is survived by her children, Trey Edge (Kensley) and Karly Walker (Mark); five precious grandchildren, Emma Caroline Edge, Ashton Edge, Drew Walker, Kara Walker, and Mason Walker; her sisters, Cindy Collins and Tina Royal (Micheal), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and Edge family.
A graveside service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery, on Ramsey Street, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to Valley Hospice House at 2431 Legion Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
