Sheila Suzanne “Suzie” Lott Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Suzie was born on September 25, 1946, to Doyle Iva Lott and Evie Pearl Andrews Lott. She was the beloved widow of Edward James Taylor, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1999.

She was a devoted mother to her three children: Rhonda Taylor, Edward James Taylor, Jr., and Zachary Taylor. She was also a proud grandmother to Avery Pollard, Evann Pollard, Evie Pollard, Madison Aples, Shelby Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Grayson Taylor, and Beckett Taylor. Her legacy also lives on through her great-grandchildren, including Julia and Marc Aples III, and Damian Pollard.

Suzie wore many hats throughout her life. She was an entrepreneur, a skilled seamstress, a nail technician, an executive assistant, a candle maker, and a talented craft maker. No matter what she was doing, she brought creativity, determination, and heart to it all.

She will be remembered as a wonderful hostess, an excellent cook, famous for her biscuits, and a spirited woman with a true spitfire personality. She was passionate about her family and loved ones and lived a life full of love, laughter, tears, and unforgettable memories. She was known by many as the fun-loving “party mom,” a fiercely devoted mother, and someone whose warmth and personality left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.

Though her body remained strong, her family felt the pain of losing pieces of her long before her passing, as Alzheimer’s slowly took her mind over the years. Even through that difficult journey, the love she gave and the life she built remained deeply cherished by those who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 3 to 5 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Dementia Alliance of North Carolina in Suzie’s memory.
