Sunday morning house fire displaces three


A Sunday morning fire damaged a home on East Shephard Street and left three people displaced, the Fayetteville Fire Department said in a release.

Units with the Fayetteville and Cumberland Road Fire Departments were dispatched just after 12 a.m. to a residential structure fire in the 3800 block of East Shephard Street, the release said. The area is off Raeford Road near the All American Expressway.

Units found a single-story, single-family home with heavy fire showing from the rear and roof of the structure, the release said.

The home suffered heavy fire and water damage, the release said. An estimate of the damage was not available.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fayetteville Fire Department’s fire investigation team.
