Sushila Nari Bhavnani, age 93 years, passed away on August 19, 2022. Her husband, Nari Bhavnani preceded her in death in 2014. She passed at home and was surrounded by family at the time of her death. She is survived by her daughter, Vinita; Son in law, Rakesh; Grandsons, Ashish, Amit and wife, Priyanka Rao, and grandchildren, Navi and Mira. She was born in Karachi, undivided India in 1928 and moved to Mumbai, India in 1947 after the partition.
She was a talented housewife, loved cooking and most importantly feeding her grandchildren and great grandchildren at every opportunity. Her hobbies included stitching and painting. She was a very skilled bridge player and enjoyed competitive play along with her husband as partner. She loved traveling and visited Europe and USA frequently until moving here to live in Fayetteville with her daughter. During her years here, with her daughter Vinita, she loved technical gadgets and learned to handle her iPhone, iPad, Air pods and iMac with ease, always willing to learn and adapt. She was and will remain an inspiration to us all. We especially loved her radiant smile.
Funeral services will be held on August 20, 2022, at 10:30 am at Rodgers & Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301 with Pundit Kamlesh Vyas Ji officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hindu Bhavan, Fayetteville or the Hindu Bhavan endowment fund at Cumberland Community Foundation.
