The Arts Council's 2015 International Folk Festival

Posted

What: The International Folk Festival is back for its 37th year in downtown Fayetteville and Festival Park. The annual festival promotes the different cultures and ethnicities that dwell in our All-America City.

Who: The tastes, sights and sounds from over 25 cultures will be represented. Want authentic Filipino lumpia? Done. Want to listen to Zydeco music straight from Nawlins? Then you’ll love the Big Easy Playboys. They are this year’s headliner, playing on the Festival Park stage. www.bigeasyplayboys.com.

When: The festival officially begins on Fourth Friday, September 25th at The Arts Council on Hay Street. The fabulous Parade of Nations kicks off on Hay Street at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 26th with different acts from around the world on stages throughout downtown. On Sunday, September 27th there will be more performances, food and shopping for the whole family to enjoy!

More Fun

Kindness Corner: This year, The Arts Council is bringing festival-goers an international adventure! Skype will be set up so we can communicate with participants in Fayetteville’s sister city, Saint-Avold, France!

Global Scavenger Hunt: Take a trip around the world by taking part in this fun-filled scavenger hunt! You will follow clues about our community’s ever-present diversity through Festival Park and the new, improved Linear Park. Prizes will be given away to the winners.
