Theodore McLamb Jr., 84 of Linden went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2024. Theodore (Ted) was born on September 3, 1939, at home in Harnett County to the late Joseph Theodore McLamb and Viola Reardon McLamb. He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty McLamb Tart, and Marie McLamb Burgess. Ted McLamb is survived by his wife Virginia McLamb of 57 years, a son Joseph T. McLamb (Angie), daughters Penny McKinney, Deanna Lyon (Matthew), and Jennifer Day (Steve); 10 grandchildren Brandon Lyon (Stephanie), Taylor Lyon, Hanna Gipson (Rusty), Garrison Lyon, Brooke McLamb, Faith McLamb, Seth McLamb, Emma Day, Tucker Day, Alayna McKinney; 2 great-grandchildren Theodore Lyon, Amelia Lyon, and nieces and nephews. Ted was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, and he enjoyed listening to the church choir. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with those he encountered. Ted served in the US Navy aboard the USS Lexington now decommissioned in Texas. Upon returning from the Navy he flew as a pilot for a construction company and eventually came back to farming in Harnett County. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Baptist Church, 6050 Plain View Hwy, Dunn, NC 28334. A memorial service will be held at Adcock Funeral Home, 2226 Lillington Hwy, Spring Lake, NC on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will take place from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. A private burial service will be held on January 11, 2024, at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
