Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Trivett (Tim) Lloyd, a resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital from complications from open heart surgery. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed. He was 86 years old.
Trivett was preceded in death by his parents, George Robert and Minnie Belcher Lloyd; his brothers, Harry Lloyd, Joe Lloyd, Dee Lloyd, Roger Lloyd, Teddy Lloyd, Ricky Lloyd; and his sisters, Nancy Lloyd Lavelle and Edna Bonnie Lloyd.
Trivett was born in Virginia. He enlisted in the Army in 1958 and made a career as a Soldier for 35 years. He loved our nation and the Army. He served two combat tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, with 7th , 8th and 10th Special Forces Groups, and in XVIII Airborne Corps during Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Middle East. He enjoyed meeting and mentoring the many men and women who he had the pleasure of serving with. Trivett retired in 1993 as the Command Sergeant Major, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. After a short retirement, he worked locally in Fayetteville as a Manager at McCauley Moving and Storage for twenty years.
He is survived by his spouse, the love of his life of 63 years, Hirma (Mari) Lloyd, originally from Panama; his daughters, Marisa Elena Geoly (Paul) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Julissa Janett Ryan (Joe) of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and his four cherished grandchildren, Maria Elena Geoly, and Abigail, Joseph and Elizabeth Ryan; as well as his brother, Johnny Lloyd; and sisters, Anne Blankenship and Kim Lloyd. He spent most of his time in retirement with his dachshund and best friend, Ralph.
Visitation will occur on Sunday, June 28th , 2026 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina. There will be a funeral ceremony on Monday, June 29th 2026 starting at 1:00 pm, also at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, with burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
