Umoja Group, Inc. today announces: 22nd Umoja Festival

Fayetteville, NC - Umoja Group, Inc. is a Fayetteville based nonprofit organization with a mission that initiates and supports positive history, art and culture of Africans, African Americans and Caribbeans; and shares this rich heritage with others to enhance respect, cooperation, and unity.

Umoja Group’s annual events for the past twenty years have been KWANZAA, Malcolm X Forum, and the African American Cultural, Family and Community Festival, known as the UMOJA FESTIVAL.

Date: Saturday, August 18, 2012 (Rain date: August 25, 2012)

Time: 12:00 NOON – 7:00 PM

Location: Seabrook Park, 1520 Slater Ave., Fayetteville, NC 28301

Admission: Free and open to the public

Attractions: Health Fair (Free Screenings), Storytellers, Cultural Displays, FSU and E.E. Smith bands, Drum Circle, Delta Steppers, Ethnic Foods/ Fish Fry, and vendors.

Special Attraction: Conversations with Treasures of Our Heritage

Participants: Cape Fear Valley Health, African American Education & Research Organization, 107.7 Jamz, 3rd World Soundz, Fayetteville/ Cumberland Parks & Recreation
