Vacation planning starts at the library

Posted

Summer is just around the corner, and that means it's time to start planning your family vacation. Whether you're heading to the beach, the mountains or somewhere in between, Cumberland County Public Library has plenty of resources to help you plan the perfect trip.

Our wide selection of travel guides, books and digital resources will help you find information on everything from the best hotels and restaurants to the top attractions and activities. Visit one of our eight locations, call 910-483-7727 or go to cumberlandcountync.gov and let us help you organize a trip to remember.

Step 1: choose a destination. You’ll want to find somewhere that suits your family’s preferences. Do you want to relax on the beach or go on an adventure in the great outdoors?

CultureGrams can help inspire you. This app has information on the best times to visit, local attractions and activities to help you plan an unforgettable vacation. You might just find a hidden gem that you never knew existed.

Once you’ve chosen your destination, it's time to plan the details. Begin by looking for family-friendly attractions and events like amusement parks, museums and festivals. The key is to find activities that everyone will enjoy, so you can create lasting memories together.

When it comes to accommodations, there are many options to consider. Do you want to stay in a hotel, a vacation rental or a campground? Do you want to cook your meals or eat at a restaurant? If you plan to cook, look for accommodations with kitchens or think about bringing a portable grill or camp stove.

If you're planning a trip abroad, don't forget to check out Transparent Language. This language learning platform offers a range of features, including the ability to learn key phrases, improve language skills or even start learning a new language from scratch.

Finally, make sure that everyone in the family has the necessary documents, such as passports or visas. If you're traveling with young children, make sure to pack plenty of snacks, toys and games to keep them entertained during the journey.

Planning a family vacation can take a lot of work, but once you reach your destination, it's worth it. By taking the time to plan ahead and consider everyone's needs, you’ll create a vacation that the whole family will enjoy. Let the library help you start mapping out your next family adventure today.
