Posted

The Association of Social and Behavioral Scientists presented Dr. LaDelle Olion with its W.E.B. DuBois Award at a March 8 luncheon at the Ramada Plaza Bordeaux Convention Center. The award honors outstanding social and behavioral scientists and civic leaders who have made significant contributions to improve the lives of black Americans. Dr. Olion, currently a full professor of special education at Fayetteville State University, was the school’s dean of graduate studies and research for 20 years and also served as dean and assistant dean of FSU’s college of education. The association noted that Olion is active in civic and church organizations and has devoted much of his career to mentoring students and young adults, providing them with educational, research and career opportunities.
