Each year, Cumberland County Schools names a graduating senior at each high school as a Standout Senior. The 17 2023 Standout Seniors are bright, hard-working students who have overcome the odds to graduate and dedicate themselves to serving their community.

Damodrick Foster will graduate from Westover High School. He answered these questions about his education and his future.
I accomplished a lot, but I am most proud of being a leader. Knowing that there are underclassmen and even seniors looking up to me makes me feel great and lets me know that I’m doing the right kinds of things.
After graduation, I am going to college to continue my family legacy. My example will let the younger generation know that it is possible to achieve more.
I have accrued 20 plus volunteer hours.
I have received scholarships from St. Andrews College, Averett University, UNC-Pembroke, Methodist University, North Carolina Wesleyan University and a couple of prep schools.
Football, wrestling, track, baseball. I love all of them, but, of course, football Is something I was born into. I put 100% of my effort into every game I play.

CCS has made me disciplined, wise, caring and, above all else, I have learned a great deal and have met a lot of wise people.
The entire Westover High School staff has helped me learn to be myself and never give up no matter what goes on in my life.
I attended W.H. Owen Elementary School and Brentwood Elementary School. Both are located in Fayetteville.
