Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman in the 100 block of Westwick Lane, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The shooting was reported about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. A woman had been shot and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her name was withheld until her family is notified.
Investigators said this does not appear to be a random incident.
