Woman, teenage son injured in shooting at motel on Cedar Creek Road

Posted

A woman and her teenage son suffered minor injuries in a shooting Thursday night at the Travelodge motel on Cedar Creek Road, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

The teenager’s father was injured in a single-vehicle crash when he tried to pursue the shooting suspects, according to a news release.

The mother and her son were taken to an area hospital and were in stable condition, the release said.

The shooting was reported about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Cedar Creek Road, the news release said.

Investigators with the Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit said it appears the suspects and the victims apparently know each other and it was not a random shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective D. O’Hara at 910-303-4220 or CrimeStoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477) or http://fay-nccrimestoppers.org.
